These dry rib rub recipes will ensure that your ribs and other meats you grill will be the most flavorful possible. We’ve collected several favorite rib rub recipes both from our own collection as well as some famous ones such as Walter Jetten’s and Bobby Flay’s.

Making your own dry rib rub recipes is very easy and often less expensive and better tasting than the ones available in stores. To make the rubs, simply mix the seasonings and then store in an airtight container until you are ready to grill and use.

When preparing baby back ribs and other meats, you’ll want to take the seasoning mixture and really rub it into the meat. Sprinkling it on will not give you the flavor you want! You can then let the meat marinade in the mixture to give it the maximum flavor possible.

When looking at these recipes below, keep in mind that measurements are approximate and that you of course can omit and substitute any ingredients that you feel are necessary. For example, you may decide that you like it REALLY hot and so will add more chili pepper or other seasonings. If you don’t like it hot, then you may want to keep the hotter spices out. Don’t be afraid to also experiment with making your own mixtures of seasonings – you’ll be surprised what wonderful things you can create simply by mixing some of the spices you have on hand in your spice cabinet!
